Penn State University's Pennsylvania Center for the Book asked DDA to capture celebrated poet, Gerald Stern, reading his poem "Behaving Like a Jew" from his book "Lucky Life". The DVD will be presented at a reading celebrating the Public Poetry Project's new series of posters. These posters feature poems written by various poets with a connection to Pennsylvania, and are displayed in public and school libraries as well as bookstores and coffee houses throughout the Commonwealth. Gerald Stern is a four time recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. He has also been awarded fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the Academy of American Poets, and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Gerald Stern is the winner of the Paris Review's Bernard Conners Award, the Bess Hokin Award for Poetry, the Ruth Lilly Prize, the Jerome J. Shestack Poetry Prize from the Academy of American Poets and the Pennsylvania Governor General's Award for Excellence in the Arts. |
